Curious about single-payer healthcare? Come learn about SB 562!

Indivisible Morongo Basin members have been gathering petition signatures for SB 562, the Healthy California Act, and will be sponsoring a community forum to answer your questions on June 26 in Yucca Valley.  You are invited!

What is SB 562, the Healthy California Act, and why do we need it?

SB 562 is a plan for single payer, affordable, comprehensive healthcare for all Californians. The bill is moving rapidly through the California State Legislature.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) made history by expanding health insurance to millions of Californians for the first time. However, it left insurance companies in charge of our healthcare system. Also, even with the ACA, 3,000,000 California residents are still uninsured.

With the federal government again doing healthcare reform, moving more responsibility for healthcare to the states, it’s imperative that California establish a better, truly universal system, which finally gets costs under control. The Golden State can set the standard for the country by implementing a just and equitable healthcare system — Healthy California!

Come learn more at our community forum!  Indivisible Morongo Basin is hosting a community forum on SB 562, to be held on June 26 from 6 to 7:30 pm.  Keynote speakers are Ellen O’Rourke and Jimmi Kuehn-Boldt from Courageous Resistance Palm Springs, along with local community members who will tell their stories. There will also be time scheduled for questions and answers.  in the Yucca Room at the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Hwy.  Free and open to the public.
